Good tank mates
This is a freshwater aquarium plant, so it shares a tank with fish rather than competing with them, and it provides cover and grazing surfaces for community fish, shrimp, and snails. It pairs well with peaceful community setups and shrimp tanks. There are no compatibility risks, though boisterous diggers like some large cichlids may uproot it.
Good to know
Cryptocoryne wendtii is famous for melting back after being moved or planted, dropping its leaves before regrowing new ones adapted to its tank, so a sudden meltdown is usually temporary rather than fatal.
