LPS Coral
Frogspawn Coral.
A favorite Euphyllia — flowing tentacles tipped like frogspawn that wave hypnotically in the current. It has stinging sweepers, so give it room from other corals; moderate light and gentle flow keep it happy in a 30-gallon-plus reef.
In-store purchase only. Live fish, coral, and invertebrates are sold at our Erie store only. They cannot be bought online, and we do not ship live animals under any circumstances.

Good tank mates
Frogspawn is a large-polyp stony coral with long sweeper tentacles that sting neighboring corals, so leave open space around it and keep it well away from other LPS (large-polyp stony), SPS (small-polyp stony), and soft corals. It pairs naturally with clownfish, which often host in its flowing tentacles, and coexists with peaceful reef fish, snails, and most shrimp; avoid placing it touching any other coral colony. Branching Euphyllia (frogspawn, hammer, torch) generally tolerate being near each other, but give every coral room.
Good to know
Clownfish that lack a natural anemone will frequently adopt a frogspawn coral as a surrogate host, nestling into its grape-like tentacles.

Firefish Goby
Small, peaceful dartfish that hovers mid-column hunting plankton and is fully reef-safe; no documented tendency to nip or disturb the extended sweeper tentacles of Euphyllia divisa.

Green Chromis
Confirmed reef-safe schooling fish that ignores coral polyps entirely; any aggression observed is intraspecific (within-school pecking order) and poses no threat to frogspawn tissue.

Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
Well-established reef-safe invertebrate that establishes cleaning stations without disturbing coral; multiple authoritative sources confirm it does not harm Euphyllia or other LPS corals.

Banggai Cardinalfish
Peaceful, slow-moving fish confirmed reef-safe across multiple care authorities; no history of nipping LPS polyps and its calm disposition means it will not trigger frogspawn's defensive sweeper tentacles.

Royal Gramma
Rated 100% reef-safe with LPS corals by multiple sources; prefers shaded caves over open reef areas and will not damage or consume frogspawn polyps in a mixed reef system.
