Saltwater Fish
Firefish Goby.
A graceful little dartfish — white fading to fiery red-orange, with a tall flicking dorsal fin. Peaceful, reef-safe, and beginner-friendly, but shy and a notorious jumper; give it rockwork to bolt into and a lid on a 20-gallon-plus tank.

Good tank mates
A peaceful, somewhat shy reef fish that fits well in calm community tanks with other gentle species like small gobies, cardinalfish, clown gobies, and reef-safe shrimp. It is reef-safe and will not bother corals or invertebrates. Avoid housing it with aggressive or boisterous fish that will bully it or outcompete it for food, and be cautious keeping two firefish together unless they are a bonded pair, as they can squabble.
Good to know
The firefish flicks its tall first dorsal fin like a flag and is a notorious jumper, darting into a rock hole at the first sign of danger.
