Freshwater Fish
Glo-lite Tetra.
A peaceful little tetra with a glowing copper-orange line down a translucent body — soft and luminous in a school. Beginner-easy and community-safe; a group glows best in a planted 10-gallon-plus tank with subdued light.

Live animals are sold in store only — we do not ship fish, coral, or invertebrates. Every animal is acclimated and health-checked in-house before it reaches the sales floor. This is a species we carry — it's most likely in the tanks around delivery days, but live stock changes daily. Please call (814) 456-9445 to confirm availability before you drive in.

Good tank mates
The glo-lite tetra is peaceful and community-safe, a great fit for a calm nano or community tank with other small, gentle fish: small tetras like ember or neon tetras, harlequin and other small rasboras, corydoras, and small peaceful livebearers. Avoid fin-nippers, much larger or aggressive fish, and anything big enough to eat a fish this small. Keep a group of six or more so they school and color up.
Good to know
The glowlight tetra comes from the Essequibo River region of Guyana, and its glowing copper-orange line is its natural coloration, not an artificial dye or genetic modification.

Bronze Cory
Peaceful, armored bottom-dwellers that occupy a completely different tank zone and share the same soft, warm, slightly acidic water requirements (pH 6.0–7.4, low hardness). One of the most established community pairings in the hobby and explicitly cited by SeriouslyFish for this species.

Harlequin Rasbora
A similarly sized, wholly peaceful mid-water schooler that thrives in soft, slightly acidic water (pH 6.0–7.5) — the same parameter window as glowlight tetras. No aggression, no size mismatch, no fin-nipping risk.

Neon Tetra
Near-identical water parameters (pH 5.5–7.0, soft water, 23–26°C), same temperament, and comparable adult size (~1.5 in). Both species are peaceful shoalers with no documented aggression between them.

Rummy-Nose Tetra
Prefers pH 5.5–6.8 and very soft water — an excellent parameter match for glowlight tetras. Peaceful, tight-shoaling, similar in size, and shares the Amazonian/South American blackwater origin that glowlight tetras flourish in.
- D
Dwarf Gourami
Water parameters overlap cleanly (pH 6.0–7.5, 4–12 dGH, 24–28°C). Aggression in dwarf gouramis is confined to intra-male disputes; they pose no threat to small tetras and are widely listed as compatible community fish. Keep no more than one male per tank to prevent conspecific quarrels.
