Freshwater Fish
Red-Bellied Piranha.
The Red-Bellied Piranha is a heavy-bodied South American predator with a deep, disc-shaped body, powerful jaws, and a flushed red-orange belly. In the wild they travel in shoals, and in the aquarium they are best kept in groups in a large, well-filtered tank. A striking display fish for dedicated keepers.

Live animals are sold in store only — we do not ship fish, coral, or invertebrates. Every animal is acclimated and health-checked in-house before it reaches the sales floor. This is a species we carry — it's most likely in the tanks around delivery days, but live stock changes daily. Please call (814) 456-9445 to confirm availability before you drive in.

Good tank mates
Best kept as a species-only shoal of its own kind, as it is a predator that is not safe with smaller fish or most other tankmates.
Good to know
Despite their fearsome reputation, red-bellied piranhas are naturally shy shoaling fish that school together largely for protection.
Stock and individual temperament vary — call (814) 456-9445 for pairing advice before you buy.
