Saltwater Fish
Midas Blenny.
The Midas blenny is a golden, 5-inch eel-shaped reef fish that splits its time between rock-perching and open-water swimming — and in the wild it mimics the color and movement of yellow Anthias to blend into their shoals. Reef-safe and full of personality; give it plenty of crevices and a 30-gallon-plus system, and keep just one unless you have a confirmed pair.
In-store purchase only. Live fish, coral, and invertebrates are sold at our Erie store only. They cannot be bought online, and we do not ship live animals under any circumstances.
Live fish are priced per supplier batch — prices may vary. Call to confirm current pricing.

Live animals are sold in store only — we do not ship fish, coral, or invertebrates. Every animal is acclimated and health-checked in-house before it reaches the sales floor. This is a species we carry — it's most likely in the tanks around delivery days, but live stock changes daily. Please call (814) 456-9445 to confirm availability before you drive in.

Good tank mates
The Midas blenny is reef-safe and generally peaceful, doing well with tangs, clownfish, wrasses, cardinalfish, and other easygoing reef fish, and it likes a perch and caves to dart into. It can get nippy or territorial toward other blennies, dartfish, or similarly shaped bottom-dwellers, and toward its own kind unless it is a confirmed pair, so avoid crowding it with lookalikes. It does not bother corals or ornamental shrimp.

Ultra Black Ice
Peaceful and reef-safe, clownfish anchor to a host anemone and create no territorial overlap with the rock-perching, water-column-swimming Midas Blenny.

Lyre-tail Anthias
In the wild the Midas Blenny mimics Anthias coloration and actively schools with them during open-water zooplankton feeding, making this one of the most naturally compatible pairings in a reef tank.

Banggai Cardinalfish
Calm, slow-moving, reef-safe fish that hover near coral heads and create no feeding or territorial competition with the active, perch-hopping Midas Blenny.
- F
Flame Angelfish
A small, reef-tolerant dwarf angelfish large enough (4–5 inches) that the Midas Blenny will not harass it; both species suit the same 30-plus-gallon reef systems and occupy different microhabitats.
- F
Fairy Wrasse
Peaceful, active open-water planktivores that share similar saltwater parameters and reef compatibility; they occupy the mid-to-upper water column without competing for the blenny's rock-perch territory.
