Freshwater Fish
Gold Gourami.
A golden three-spot gourami — a hardy labyrinth fish that breathes air at the surface and brings warm color to a community tank. Beginner-friendly, though males can get territorial; give it a 20-gallon-plus tank with some surface cover.

Good tank mates
Gold gouramis are semi-aggressive, especially the males, so pick similarly-sized, not-timid tankmates rather than delicate nano fish. Reasonable companions include larger tetras, barbs in a proper school, rasboras, peaceful catfish like corydoras, and other medium community fish. Avoid keeping two male gouramis together, very small or long-finned fish that may get harassed, and known fin-nippers. Not the best choice for a peaceful nano community.
Good to know
The gold gourami is a color variety of the three-spot gourami, a labyrinth fish that gulps air at the surface to breathe.
