Freshwater Fish
Gold Gourami.
A golden three-spot gourami — a hardy labyrinth fish that breathes air at the surface and brings warm color to a community tank. Beginner-friendly, though males can get territorial; give it a 20-gallon-plus tank with some surface cover.
In-store purchase only. Live fish, coral, and invertebrates are sold at our Erie store only. They cannot be bought online, and we do not ship live animals under any circumstances.
Live fish are priced per supplier batch — prices may vary. Call to confirm current pricing.

Live animals are sold in store only — we do not ship fish, coral, or invertebrates. Every animal is acclimated and health-checked in-house before it reaches the sales floor. This is a species we carry — it's most likely in the tanks around delivery days, but live stock changes daily. Please call (814) 456-9445 to confirm availability before you drive in.

Good tank mates
Gold gouramis are semi-aggressive, especially the males, so pick similarly-sized, not-timid tankmates rather than delicate nano fish. Reasonable companions include larger tetras, barbs in a proper school, rasboras, peaceful catfish like corydoras, and other medium community fish. Avoid keeping two male gouramis together, very small or long-finned fish that may get harassed, and known fin-nippers. Not the best choice for a peaceful nano community.
Good to know
The gold gourami is a color variety of the three-spot gourami, a labyrinth fish that gulps air at the surface to breathe.

Bronze Cory
Corydoras are dedicated bottom dwellers that stay entirely out of the mid-to-upper zone the Gold Gourami occupies. Multiple authoritative gourami compatibility guides (Guidarium, TropicalFishCareGuides, BuildYourAquarium) list Corydoras as safe companions, and the species-level separation in the water column prevents the gourami from enforcing territory against them. Keep in groups of 6+ per their own social needs.
- M
Mystery Snail
Adult Mystery Snails (shell diameter 1.5–2 inches) are too large for a Gold Gourami to swallow, and their hard operculum lets them seal shut when a fish investigates. Occasional antenna investigation is possible, but multiple care guides confirm adult Pomacea bridgesii coexist safely with gouramis and do not compete for food or territory. The aquadiction.world Gold Gourami profile names them directly.
