Cryptocoryne Lutea.
A compact, hardy crypt with narrow green leaves — slow, steady, and ideal for the midground of a low-tech tank. Beginner-proof and adaptable; root it in nutrient-rich substrate in a 10-gallon-plus tank and leave it to settle in.

Good tank mates
As a hardy foreground-to-midground plant, Cryptocoryne lutea suits almost any peaceful community tank and gives shrimp, fry, and shy fish cover among its leaves. It works with most community fish but can be uprooted by large diggers or eaten by determined plant-grazers like big cichlids or some goldfish, so check your stock. Ask staff if unsure whether your fish are plant-safe.
Good to know
Like other crypts, Cryptocoryne lutea can drop its leaves and "melt" after being moved to a new tank, then regrow from the rootstock once it settles into stable conditions.
