Freshwater Fish
Assorted Angelfish.
Freshwater angelfish in an assortment of patterns — tall, graceful cichlids that bring vertical drama to a planted community tank. Beginner-friendly, but they grow to around six inches and can get territorial at spawning time; give them a 30-gallon-plus tank with height and gentle tankmates.
In-store purchase only. Live fish, coral, and invertebrates are sold at our Erie store only. They cannot be bought online, and we do not ship live animals under any circumstances.

Live animals are sold in store only — we do not ship fish, coral, or invertebrates. Every animal is acclimated and health-checked in-house before it reaches the sales floor. This is a species we carry — it's most likely in the tanks around delivery days, but live stock changes daily. Please call (814) 456-9445 to confirm availability before you drive in.

Good tank mates
Semi-aggressive, so pair with similarly sized, not-timid fish that can hold their own around feeding time and at spawning, when angels get territorial. Good company includes larger peaceful tetras (rummy-nose, lemon), corydoras, mid-size rasboras, and peaceful gouramis. Avoid known fin-nippers like tiger barbs and serpae tetras, and skip tiny fish such as neon or ember tetras, which a grown angel may eat. Not a fit for a delicate nano community.

Bronze Cory
Peaceful bottom-dwellers occupying a completely different tank zone than mid-water angelfish, eliminating territory competition. Their armored body plates also deter any curious angel from pestering them. They thrive in the same warm, soft, slightly acidic South American water conditions and should be kept in groups of 6+ on a sandy substrate to protect their barbels.
- D
Dwarf Gourami
Generally peaceful and compatible with angelfish in adequately sized tanks (30+ gallons with plenty of sight-breaks). Shares similar warm, soft water requirements. Individual temperament variation exists — monitor during introduction — but the majority of hobbyist experience confirms a workable community pairing when hiding spots and planting are sufficient to diffuse any territorial posturing.
- G
German Blue Ram
A classic South American biotope pairing. Rams are substrate-zone dwellers while angelfish work the mid-water column, minimizing territory overlap. Both species share identical water parameter needs — warm (80–86°F), soft, acidic water — making tank maintenance straightforward. Inter-species aggression is rare; watch for heightened territorial behavior from either species during spawning events.
