Freshwater Fish
Assorted Angelfish.
Freshwater angelfish in an assortment of patterns — tall, graceful cichlids that bring vertical drama to a planted community tank. Beginner-friendly, but they grow to around six inches and can get territorial at spawning time; give them a 30-gallon-plus tank with height and gentle tankmates.

Good tank mates
Semi-aggressive, so pair with similarly sized, not-timid fish that can hold their own around feeding time and at spawning, when angels get territorial. Good company includes larger peaceful tetras (rummy-nose, lemon), corydoras, mid-size rasboras, and peaceful gouramis. Avoid known fin-nippers like tiger barbs and serpae tetras, and skip tiny fish such as neon or ember tetras, which a grown angel may eat. Not a fit for a delicate nano community.
