Longfin Mocha Clownfish.
Its trailing longfin shape and dark mocha coloration are both selectively bred traits derived from the common ocellaris, the same species made famous as the clownfish in popular animated film.
We keep this species at our Erie store. Come and see it in the tanks, or call (814) 456-9445 and ask what we have in right now.

Good tank mates
This is a peaceful designer ocellaris and one of the easiest clownfish for a reef community, getting along with gobies, firefish, cardinalfish, small wrasses, and most other calm reef fish. Keep a single clown or a bonded pair rather than several unrelated adults, and avoid housing it with very aggressive maroon or large clarkii clowns that will harass it. It is reef safe and will not pick at corals or your cleanup crew.

Green Chromis
A genuinely peaceful damselfish that is reef-safe, ignores clownfish entirely, and thrives in the same saltwater community conditions at similar tank sizes.

Royal Gramma
A peaceful, reef-safe basslet confirmed by multiple hobbyists to coexist without aggression with ocellaris clownfish in the same tank.

Firefish Goby
A docile, non-competitive goby that occupies the water column near rockwork rather than competing with clownfish for territory, making it a safe reef-tank pairing.

Banggai Cardinalfish
A slow-swimming, peaceful reef fish that does not conflict with clownfish and is explicitly noted as a suitable community partner for ocellaris in reef systems. Any aggression issues are intraspecific only.
- T
Tailspot Blenny
A peaceful, algae-grazing blenny explicitly listed as clownfish-compatible by multiple sources. Rare SPS (small-polyp stony) nipping reports are linked only to underfeeding and are not a consistent behavioral trait.
