Freshwater Fish
African Clawed Frog.
A fully aquatic frog with a big appetite and a goofy, paddling charm. Hardy and beginner-friendly, but it'll eat anything it can fit in its mouth — keep it alone or with others its size in a 20-gallon-plus tank with a tight lid.

Good tank mates
This is a semi-aggressive, species-only animal, so the honest answer is: keep it alone or only with other African clawed frogs of similar size. It will eat anything it can fit in its mouth, so do not house it with smaller fish, shrimp, or snails. Avoid pairing it with delicate community fish entirely. If you want a community tank, this is not the pick. Not sure what fits your setup? Call us and we'll talk it through.
Good to know
African clawed frogs were used for decades as a pregnancy test, since injecting a woman's urine into a female frog would cause it to lay eggs if the woman was pregnant.
